Welcome

The first website dedicated to amateur radial velocity studies and exoplanet detection.

Spectrashift.com is a collaborative effort of amateur astronomers from around the world. Our goal is to construct a 1.1 meter telescope and spectrograph to discover extrasolar planets using radial velocities.

We have already demonstrated a level of capability by detecting the known planet around the star Tau Bootis. Information on our publication in the Journal of the British Astronomical Association can be found here.
